Stock Market Video: Looking Past Scary News Headlines

Friday brought some scary news headlines out of Turkey, seeing the Turkish Lira and Euro currencies drop.

Stocks also followed suit declining on Friday.

For the week, though, the U.S. equity markets were mixed, with the Nasdaq (NASDAQ: QQQ) and Russell 2000 (NYSEARCA: IWM) rising.

So how helpful is it to react to news headlines? Looking at the broader picture tells you that knee-jerk investing reactions aren’t very helpful.
