The month of January limped to a close on Friday, turning investors focus to the month ahead. In an effort to generate some trading ideas, I found myself curious about which stocks and ETFs had strong February seasonality. With this in mind, I did a some research and came up with the following list of some stocks and ETFs that tend to perform well in February. Let’s take a look at the results below:

A couple of things that stood out: Stocks like Visa (V) and CBOE Holdings (CBOE) have not had a losing February in their short history. Also, stocks like Hershey Foods (HSY) and Consol Energy (CNX) have tended to show strong February seasonality.
The past is not necessarily a predictor of the future, so there should be more due diligence done. The point of this February seasonality scan was to produce some ideas for further vetting (or a watch list). Thanks for reading!
