ETF Investing Review: Volatility Jumps On China, Greece [VIDEO]

As investors head into July, the summertime market action is anything but calming. With the latest uptick in market volatility and world crises (China, Greece, etc…), it’s probably a good time to review the ETF investing space and select sectors and markets.

In this month’s ETF investing trends video, we analyze the current trends of the market along with some important technical indicators. The key themes to watch this month are large cap stocks, small cap stocks, market volatility, China, Treasury bonds, and commodities. In the video, I talk about several important ETFs to monitor within the context of current ETF investing trends, emerging trends, and broken trends. Investors will want to stay on top of these themes as we head into July and August.

The European and Chinese markets have shaken things up a bit. European stocks have been in correction mode for a couple months and the iShares China ETF (FXI) has fallen over 25 percent. At the same time, the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) has pulled back just over 4 percent (touching down near its 200 day moving average). But investors have to be careful for spillover. And the Volatility Index (VIX) is signaling concerns.

I hope you find some value in our monthly ETF investing trends and chart review video. Thanks for watching.
